                                                                                                              WEEK

omen in Construction Week (WIC), founded by the National Association of Women in Construction
(NAWIC), was held March 3 - 9 with the theme of Be The Power In Your Success to highlight how each
Wperson's actions determines how their career will unfold. The focus of WIC Week is to highlight women
as a visible component of the construction industry. It is an opportunity to celebrate, on a national level, all of
WOMEN IN NAWIC began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth in 1953 by a group of 15 women to help create a support
the successes women have had over the years and to emphasize the growing role of women in the industry.

network for other women in the industry. This progressive group had the foresight to create an atmosphere
where they could network and support each other professionally as well as personally. This support system
gave them the confidence to reach for and achieve their goals. In 1955, they became the National Association
of Women in Construction. Today, membership has grown to over 5,500 women with more than 160 chapters.

CONSTRUCTION NAWIC founded Women in Construction Week to give their organization an event to help bring women together.
Decade over decade, the percentage of women in construction has increased with nearly 1 million women
working in construction today. The industry has become more accepting of their non-traditional roles and
women are advancing their careers through the industry as field staff, project supervisors, project managers,
vice-presidents, and more. Young women are now entering college with a passion to study engineering,
construction management, architecture, and everything in between. Women have become a strong contributor
to the construction industry's workforce and there's many more to come.

"WIC is one week out of the year that we call out the women we know and work with to honor them,"
said Jennifer VanBreda, WIC Week National Chair. "However, every day we should be looking to gain more
momentum in this trend, keep gaining knowledge, bettering ourselves, and pushing forward to be the best we
        can be in our industry."

Women in Construction Week is held the first full week of March each year. At Rosendin, we are proud of all
of the women we call colleagues and friends. Watch Rosendin's Women in Construction videos on YouTube
