The History of Thailand Hotel Standards
























             Two laws that impacted the work of this pilot project were passed in 2002. These were the
             Public Administration Acts 2002 (5th issue) and the Ministries and Departments Reform Act
             2002. One result of these laws was the official establishment of the Ministry of Tourism and
             Sports. Two further impacts on the Thailand Hotel Standards Project were the two following
             Royal Decrees: The Royal Decree of Official Transference of the Administration, Authority
             and  Function  of  Governmental  Organizations  in Accordance  with  “The  Reform Acts  of
             Ministries and Depar tments” 2002 and The Royal Decree of Reform Acts concurring with
