AMIN EXPECTS INDIGENOUS PEOPLE TO BENEFIT FROM PAPUA'S DEVELOPMENT
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin called on the Papua and West Papua provincial governments to push
for development, so that indigenous Papuans can enjoy the results.

"In the context of efforts to accelerate the development of West Papua, it is expected to provide
clear, tangible changes and that the results are truly experienced and the benefits are enjoyed,
especially for indigenous Papuans, as a commitment of the government," the vice president
stated in Manokwari, West Papua, according to a statement from the Bureau of Press, Media,
and Information of the Vice President's Secretariat on Thursday.
Amin revealed that the central government, through the National Development Planning Ministry
or National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas), had created a development strategy
complemented by an action plan for 2021-2024.

"This is in the context of poverty alleviation, basic needs, as well as in the context of accelerating
welfare development, also called the quick win program, so it is an acceleration program to
ensure that the results can be immediately witnessed by the Papuan people," he expounded.
