Vice President Amin led a coordination meeting with the ranks of the West Papua provincial
              government at the West Papua Governor's Office on Thursday. The meeting aims to discuss
              efforts to expedite development and tackle extreme poverty in the area.

              "This is a coordination meeting to discuss Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2020 and then
              also relates to Law Number 2 of 2021 on the Second Amendment to Law Number 21 of 2001 on
              Special Autonomy for the provinces of Papua and West Papua while at the same time discussing
              about tackling extreme poverty," he noted.

              At the coordination meeting, Amin appealed to all ranks of the West Papua provincial government
              to submit proposals and hold dialogue with the central government to accelerate development
              in West Papua Province.

              "This is a follow-up meeting of that at the Vice President's Office to obtain some kind of input
              and  dialogue  between  the  (central)  Government  and  all  of  society  in  West  Papua,"  Amin
              remarked.
              Amin's visit to West Papua is the foremost one since he first served as vice president in October
              2019. He is also scheduled to visit Papua Province, Friday, October 15, to lead a coordination
              meeting and close the National Sports Week (PON). XX.

              Amin's entourage during the visit included Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security
              Mahfud  MD,  Home  Affairs  Minister  Tito  Karnavian,  Health  Minister  Budi  Gunadi  Sadikin,
              Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah, Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Teten
              Masduki,  National  Development  Planning  Minister/Head  of  National  Development  Planning
              Agency Suharso Monoarfa, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Public Housing John Wempi
              Wetipo, and Deputy Minister of Environment Life and Forestry Alue Dohong.
