LOOP KNOT

        This simple knot is very
        important when you want to
        eliminate a worn section of
rope; as the worn part is taken
up in the dead point of the
        knot.

        Method
Make a bight in the rope with
the worn area in the center
        and make an overhand knot
(1). Pull the ends to tighten
        the knot (2, 3).
