Şehrin dünyaca meşhur rektörler sarayı gotik, barok ve röne- sans etkilerini bünyesinde barındıran dünyanın en ilginç ve güzel sanatlı yapılarından biri. Yapıldığı dönemden bugüne birçok ek ve yenileme çalışması geçiren yapı ihtişamı ve güzelliği ile büyüleyen bir mekan. Günümüzde Dubrovnik Müzesi Tarih Bölümü’ne ev sa- hipliği yapan saray, 1800’lü yıllara kadar şehri yöneten rektörlere ve ailelerine ev sahipliği yapıyor.
Orlando Sütunu
Şehrin eski pazar meydanında, Çan Kulesi’nin yakınında yer alan asker heykeli oldukça dikkat çekici. Orlan Sütunu olarak iisimlen- diriliyor. Bu sütun öyle bir sütun ki hem duyuruların yapıldığı bildiri- lerin okunduğu hem tüccarların metresi olarak kullanılmış. Tarihte önemli bir sütun olan Orlanda Sütunu bugun de önemli bir durak. ve Stradun Caddesi’nin sonunda yer alıyor.
Pile Kapısı
Şehire giriş sağlayan ana kapı Pile Kapısı. Biz de bol bol bu kapıyı kullanarak şehri giriş çıkışlarımızı yapıyoruz. Pile, büyük kapı anla- mına geliyor. Bu kapı şehrin koruyucu azizin heykeline de sahip. Bu güzel, tarihi, anlamlı kapı eski şehir ile yeni şehri birbirine bağlıyor. Buraya gelenler bol bol bu kapıdan geçerler.
Aziz Blaise Kilisesi
Aziz Blaise, 1715 yılında eski bir kilise alanının üzerine yapılmış olan bir yapıdan bahsetme vakti. Eski pazar meydanında, Orlanda sütunu’nun yanında yer alan Aziz Blaise Kilisesi dikkat çekici bir ki- lise. Adından da anlaşılacağı üzere Aziz Blaise için inşa ediliyor. Eski bir kilise alanının üstüne inşa edilen kilise, Venedik’te yer alan Aziz Mauritius Kilisesi’ne benzeyen bir mimariye sahip. Dubrovnik gezi- lecek yerle en önemli dini yapılardan olan kilisenin iç kısmı ve mer- mer işlemeleri oldukça görkemli. Şehirdeki birçok düğün merasimi burada düzenleniyor.
Rector’s Palace
The famous “Rector’s Palace” of the city, is one of the world’s most interesting and beautiful artifacts, incorporating Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance in uences. This palace, to which ad- ditions and renovations were applied since it was rst construct- ed, magni es by its splendor and beauty. The palace, hosting the Dubrovnik Museum’s History Department today, was home to Rectors -city governors- and their families until the 1800s.
Orlando Column
In the old market square of the city, the soldier statue next to the Bell Tower is quite remarkable. It is called the Orlando Column. Moreover, this column is such a column that it is not only used for making announcements and notices but also has been used as a meter by merchants. Orlando Column, an important stream in history, is still an important stop at the end of Stradun Street.
Pile Gate
The main gate providing entrance to the city is the Pile Gate. We use this gate for entrance and exit. “Pile” means big gate. This gate also hosts the guardian saint sculpture of the city. This beautiful, historic, and meaningful gate connects the old city with the new city.
St. Blaise Church
It is time to talk about the St. Blaise church, a building con- structed in 1715 on an old church site. The St. Blaise Church lo- cated in the old market square and next to the Orlando Column, is a remarkable church. It was built for St. Blaise, as understood from its name. The church, built on an old church site, has an architecture resembling the St. Mauritius Church in Venice. It is one of the most important religious buildings to visit in Du- brovnik and the interior of the church and the marble works are magni cent. Many wedding ceremonies in the city are held here.
