Gezerken dünyanın farklı güzelliklerini ve iklimlerini görüyo- ruz. Kuzey Kutup Dairesi’ne yakın ya da içinde olan ülkelerde durum hep bu şekilde. Rusya, Alaska, İsveç, Norveç, İzlanda, Danimarka ve Kanada’da durum aynı. Gerçekten oldukça il- ginç ve sıra dışı yaşamları olduğunu görüyoruz burada.
Sizce biz ne yaptık gecenin gündüzünde?
Biz otelimize gelince tabii önce biraz şaşırdık. Uyumak isti- yoruz ama aynı zamanda istemiyoruz da çünkü hava aydınlık. Fakat Yakupcan’ın uyuması ve sabah olunca çekime çıkma- mız lazım. Tüm perdeleri kapattık ve gece izlenimi yaratıp hepimiz uykuya dalmaya çalıştık. Özellikle Yakupcan çok şa- şırdı ve “Ben gece olmadan, hava kararmadan uyumam,” de- yip durdu. Bunun mümkün olmayacağını anlatıp gösterince ve uykuya yenik düşünce biraz rahatladık. Bu doğa olayı onu çok etkiledi ve çok hoşuna gitti. Gece saat 24:00 olduğun- da hâlâ havanın aydınlık olması, çocuk parklarının çocuklarla, bisiklet yollarının bisikletlilerle dolu olması gerçekten şaşır- tıcıydı. Hayatta tecrübe edilmesi gereken çok özel bir coğ- rafya Kuzey Kutbu.
Kışın çok renkli bu güzel şehirlerde yapılacak bir çok aktivite var. Yaz geldiği zaman neler oluyor, neler yapılıyor diye sora- bilirsiniz.
Eğlencenin, aktivitelerin, parkların diyarı Rovaniemi
Bu güzel topraklar her ne kadar karıyla, soğuk havasıyla dün- yada bilinse de yaz mevsiminin güzellikleri ve aktiviteleriyle de biliniyor. Kışın; kar, kızak, buz, kayak, soğuk derken yazın- da atlarla, atv motorlarla, yemyeşil ormanlarda gezip zaman geçiriliyor. Meselâ burada yapılması gereken en önemli ve en taze aktivitelerden biri, vahşi kurtların yaşam sürdüğü çiftliğe gidip kurtların kafesine girerek onları sevmek.
Kurt çiftliği
Kurtlar, vahşi doğanın vazgeçilmezleri. Özellikle de Kuzey Kut- bu’nda sayıları oldukça fazla. Avrupa’nın ve Asya’nın fazla sıcak olmayan bölgelerinde boz kurtlar çoğunlukta gösteriyor kendi- ni. Daha kuzeye gidildiğinde siyah ve beyaz renkli kurtlara rast- lıyoruz. Biz de Lapland’da Rovaniemi’de yazın en güzel hâlinde Haziran ayında tabiatla başbaşa olan bir çiftlikte kurtlarla iç içe oluyoruz. Bu kurtlar kutuplar bölgesine has, soğuk havaya da- yanabilen özel kurtlar.
Rehberimiz Salla çiftliğin sahibiyle bizi tanıştırdığında onun bir kurt adam olduğuna karar verdik. Vahşi kurtların dilinden iyi anlıyordu. Kurtların hepsi ona aitti.
Birkaç tane kafesin olduğu bu çiftlikte ailenin en cesaretlisi, yürek yemişi ben olduğum için bir anda kendimi vahşi kurt- ların içinde buluveriyorum. Önce kurtların sahibi kafese giri- yor. Bir sağa, bir sola deli gibi çılgınca koşturan kurtları sakin- leştirdikten sonra ben de kafese giriyorum. Kurt adam, bana kesinlikle kurtlara dokunmamam gerektiğini ve sadece sakin durup, ani hareketler yapmamam gerektiğini söyledi.
Bir müddet durduktan sonra birbirimize alıştık. Yavaşça do- kunup sevdim. Birinci kafeste gayet güzel ve rahat bir çekim yaptıktan sonra ikinci kafese geçtik. Bu sefer daha rahattım. Onları besledim bile. Çiftlikte köpeklerinde olduğunu öğre- nince onları da görmek istedik. Kurtlar ve köpekler birbirle-
We experience different beauties and climates of the world when we travel. This is the case in countries close to or within the north polar circle. The situation is the same in Russia, Alaska, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Canada. We observe that they have really interesting and extraordinary lives here.
What do you think we did during the midnight?
Of course, we were a bit surprised when we arrived to our hotel. We want to sleep, but we also don’t want to, because it’s bright. But Yakupcan needs to sleep and we need to go filming in the morning. We closed all the curtains and cre- ated the impression of night and we all tried to fall asleep. Yakupcan was particularly surprised and kept saying, “I don’t sleep without night, I can’t sleep unless it is dark”. When we explained that this would not be possible, we were relieved when he slept. This natural event affected him very much and he really liked it. It was really surprising that at 24:00, the weather was still bright, the playgrounds were full of children, and the cycle routes were full of cyclists. Hence, the North Pole is certainly a special location to experience.
There are many activities to be held in these beautiful cit- ies, which are very colorful in winter. When summer comes, you can wonder about the activities.
Rovaniemi, the land of entertainment, activities and parks
Although these beautiful lands are known in the world with the snow and cold weather, they are also known for the beauties and activities that the region offer in the summer season. While you can enjoy the snow, sledge, ice and ski- ing, you can ride horses in the forest or use ATV motors. For example, one of the most important and popular activ- ities to perform here is to go to the farm where wild wolves live and love them by entering the wolves’ cage.
Wolf Farm
Wolves are indispensable part of wild life. Particularly they are very numerous in the North Pole. Particularly gray wolves are living in cold regions of Europe and Asia. When we go further north, we encounter black and white wolves. In Rovaniemi, Lapland, in June, in the most beautiful sum- mer, we encounter the wolves on a farm. These wolves are special wolves specific to the polar region; they are not af- fected by the cold weather.
When our guide Salla introduced us to the owner of the farm, we thought that he was a werewolf. He understood the lan- guage of the wild wolves. The wolves all belonged to him.
In this farm where there are a few cages, I find myself around the wild wolves, as I am the most courageous family member. The owner of the wolves enters the cage first. I’m going to the cage after the wolves calmed down by running around like crazy. The werewolf told me that I should never touch the wolves; I needed to stay calm and avoid making sudden movements.
After a while, we got used to each other. I touched it slowly. After taking a nice and comfortable shot in the first cage, we went to the second cage. I was more comfortable this
