SUNDAY RIDE REPORTS
Ken’s King Road Brewing Ride - Sunday 26th June
On what could only be described as a perfect winter’s riding day, seven suitably rugged up members joined
Ken on a coolish Sunday for a ride to Mundijong via Kalamunda.
Kalamunda was the morning tea stop with the Dome chosen with the hope it would not be too busy, a
problem often associated with cafes in that area. We took a meander up through the woopy do’s to Obrien
Road and back through Parkerville, Darlington, Boya and Gooseberry Hill arriving at the Dome just before
the morning rush allowing us to spend a half hour solving the world’s problems once again.
Paul had to leave us, he was going to see some funny game called Rugby, so the remaining seven headed
off for a classic Karragullen, Canning Dam, and Albany Highway ride to Jarrahdale. Then it was Kingsbury
Drive back to SW highway, looping back to Mundijong Road and westward to King Road and the brewery.
The last time I had been to the King Road Brewing Co was before Covid. It had not lost any of its popular
appeal and the crowds had gathered. Luckily we manage to snare a table straight away. Jim had actually
been there a couple of weeks before with his care club.
Good lunch meals that came relatively quickly, great company and an easy ride home down Mundijong
Road through Naval Base, Fremantle and along the coast to home. Thanks to Paul and Bruce for tail end
duties. A perfect Sunday!
