Explore Cape York 3
How Much Time Should I Plan to Spend Exploring
           the Cape?
Because there is so much to see and do, as much as you can!
Having said that, many of us do not have the luxury of
unlimited holidays. Two weeks on the Cape will enable you to
experience enough to make you want to keep coming back
           again, and again and again.

Will my Vehicle Make it to the Top?
Pretty much any vehicle parked at your local supermarket will
make it to the Tip travelling on the PDR and Bamaga Road,
although it can be harder-going in a 2WD. For the tracks you’re
going to need a minimum of a 4WD with a bullbar, snorkel,
snatch strap and possibly a winch – some won’t attempt it
without one, however, many successfully do.

How Much Fuel and Water Should I Carry?
None, unless you’re planning on spending weeks closeted in a
far-flung corner of Cape York. All fuel stops have water
available, although it may pay to bring your own water hose
and fittings. They’re the sort of things that tend to go
walkabout. See page 2 for distances and approximate times
           between fuel stops.

What Permits do I Need When Travelling Cape
           York?
If you intend to overnight at a National Park you will need to
purchase a permit online prior to your trip.
