Byford bakery 10-09-2022 What a beautiful morning for a ride. The weather was perfect I felt like I
could have ridden all day. It’s been ages since I’ve been out on my Brmstik, so I was very aware and
conscious of my movements. There was a good turn out in the car park ready to join me. After my
spiel, we geared up and off into the wide blue yonder.
We saw baby calves and ducks and I was surprised of how much water was lying around. So many
beautiful flowers and fields of green. Taking the back roads to Keysbrook and then onto Kingsbury
Drive to the Serpentine Dam. Wow, it’s pretty full. Going through the bushlands you could smell the
gums and the usual bush smells, it was euphoric, well for me anyway. Jarrahdale café had a few bikes
parked out front as we passed and then we turned into Nettleton Rd. A few of the guys went past
enjoying themselves the others were happy to sit with me.
Arrived in Byford and we were ready for a bite, coffee and chat. A little mishap with my footwork, but
David and Paul to the rescue, they sorted me out (thanks guys). Susan and Mia met us there and
thankfully saved a table and a huge thanks to all who joined me on my Saturday ride.
     Cheers,
     Julie

      A note from Julie:
      Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say that the restaurant night last month was disappointing.
We arrived at 6.30pm, they took our orders and ½ an hour later those who ordered Entrees received
them and then the wait began.
8.15pm we had enough of waiting so we got up from the table, paid for the entrees and left.
A few went to Red Rooster, few went to HJ’s and a few went home to pizzas or whatever they had in
      the fridge.
I know it’s hard when a restaurant first opens and there’s always teething problems, but when you
are the first in and everyone that arrived after us, even Uber eats and take-aways were done before
us…. That’s not good business. Sorry to those that came along that night, hopefully next month
(October) will be better. Cheers Juls
      A footnote from Chris:
This month (October) we went to Zaab Thai, and enjoyed a delicious dinner, served quickly by the
chefs teenage son. It was a great night & made up for last month. Hopefully last month’s restaurant
learn from their mistakes, & improve their service. Thanks Julie for booking these dinners & giving our
members a chance to enjoy some great nights out with friends.

                       Last months meeting.

At least with numbers down you have a better chance
                       of winning a raffle prize!

Thanks Dave A for the photo
