IV Besides creating extra energy, there are other benefits that companies enjoy when
workers exercise. Healthy, active workers don’t take as many sick days. A 2011 study showed
that when workers exercised for just 2.5 hours each week during working hours, they took

fewer days off. “It’s like I always say: ‘If workers in a company sweat together, they stay
20 together,’ ” remarks Mike Halibard, owner of World Technology.

V Exercise at work isn’t a new idea, but now we know that it’s clearly a setup where
everyone gains – both the individual workers and the company as a whole. It’s not the
type of activity that matters; it’s making sure that people at work have the opportunity and

encouragement to exercise. “World Technology makes exercise important,” says Jim Stone,
25 one of the company's employees. “That’s one of the things I love about working there.”
