A short story with a BIG punch line!
A few years ago I started a new business venture, with two partners. Short story, the business intention was to offer a service to Inspire and inform homeowners on how to start an investment portfolio, using the vehicle of property to reduce dead mortgage debt with a view to gradually building a secure asset base.
The appetite in the marketplace was strong, but only after the strategy was revealed. The cost however of getting in front of and presenting to a suitable qualified prospect was beyond high.
Nevertheless we believed in the Value that our service offered and tested a multitude of marketing strategies. Thousands of dollars disappeared into thin air with little to show, whilst sporadically some strategies produced encouraging results, albeit fleetingly and as mentioned at significant cost.
At one point we were sitting at an average cost per sale acquisition of up to $8000. As you can guess the fruits of our endeavours were being enjoyed primarily by our lead generators!
