Maybank Global Global Fund is launched in Sep 2020 with MYR 349.5mil AUM, co-managed
Sustainable Equity-i by Schroders, a global asset manager with good establishment and
Fund (S) USD 600bil AUM worldwide.
Fund manager has demonstrated a strong track record in their
existing ESG mandates (Schroder ISF Global Sustainable Growth
Fund).
The fund provides exposure to global companies that are ESG-
compliant and Shariah-compliant.
ESG companies have resilient characteristics against externalities
and uncertainties, allowing them to preserve and strive in a tough
economic environment.
Funds have been flowing into ESG assets due to their resilient
nature, and the trend has accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fund targets to deliver 8% return per annum with a potential
dividend payout of 3.0% per annum.
The conventional ESG mandate managed at Schroders with similar
strategies delivered an annualised return of 19.2% and 17.7% over
the past 3 and 5 years, respectively (USD, 31 Mar 2021).
United Global Global Fund is launched in Sep 2016 with MYR 489.9mil AUM, co-managed
Quality Equity Fund by Wellington Management, a US-based asset manager that
oversees USD 1tril assets across the globe.
The fund provides exposure into global companies with growing
industry market share, quality balance sheets and strong
management teams (with history of successful products,
innovative ways of doing business or have the opportunities to
expand globally).
The fund manager invests based on a balance of metrics such as
quality, growth, valuation and capital returns.
The fund delivered an annualised return of 12.9% over the past 3
years (MYR Hedged Class, 31 Mar 2021).
TA Global Absolute Global Fund is launched in Jan 2021 with more than MYR 1.0bil AUM,
Growth Fund (W) managed by Fullerton Management, an Asia-based investment
specialist established since 2003 with AUM of more than US 35bil.
Fullerton Management was an internal fund management division
within Temasek Holdings before its establishment, and currently
manages various mandates for government agencies, pension plans
as well as other institutional profiles.
The portfolio manager also oversees other mandates of
Fullerton’s, which includes Asia Absolute Alpha Equity strategy.
The fund is managed based on a total return of 8% per annum and
is benchmark agnostic with 30-40 growth stocks.
Portfolio has performed largely in-line with global growth index
but dragged down by China exposure.
The fund manager diversifies the portfolio across different risk
clusters and alpha drivers and utilise market dislocations to invest
in high quality growth stocks.
The Lux Global Absolute Alpha Fund, incepted since June 2019 has
delivered strong outperformance of more than 30%
outperformance against MSCI World Index (as of 28 Feb 2021).
