Affin Hwang World Global Fund is launched in Jan 2021 with more than MYR 300mil AUM,
Series – Long Term managed by Ballie Gifford UK-based investment management firm
Global Growth established since 1903 with AUM of more than US 300bil.
The fund adopts a stringent research framework to identify
exceptional companies to analyse current and prospective
holdings.
The fund has no geographical or security constraints, which allows
the fund manager to have a global reach in seeking opportunities
with longevity and robustness.
The fund executes a buy-and-hold strategy and has a high
conviction on the underlying securities.
The target fund has delivered annualised returns of 34.6% and
32.7% over the past 3 and 5 years, respectively (USD, 31 Mar
2021).
United Global Global Fund is launched in Sep 2016 with MYR 339.5mil AUM, co-managed
Durable Equity Fund by Wellington Management, a US-based asset manager that
oversees USD 1tril assets across the globe.
The fund provides exposure into global companies that have strong
balance sheets and profit record which could provide consistent
dividend yields to the portfolio.
Fund manager seeks to invest in durable companies which provide
investors with steady returns that compound over time at lower
than average volatility.
These durable companies typically have moderate but predictable
revenue growth, solid management and have steady competitive
dynamics and limited economic sensitivity.
The fund delivered an annualised return of 9.9% and 9.4% over the
past 3 and 5 years, respectively (MYR Hedged Class, 31 Mar 2021).
Affin Hwang World Global The fund feeds into Morgan Stanley Investments Global Brands
Series – Global Fund, where the target fund is incepted since Feb 2003 and has an
Brands Fund (W) AUM of USD 1.6bil.
The investment team believes that high-quality companies can
generate superior returns over the long term.
The fund manager invests in companies with dominant market
positions, underpinned by powerful, hard to replicate intangible
assets that can generate high, unlevered returns on operating
capital and strong free cash flows.
Other characteristics are recurring revenue streams, pricing
power, low capital intensity and organic growth.
The target fund delivered an annualised return of 14.9% and 14.3%
over the past 3 and 5 years, respectively (GBP, 31 Mar 2021).
Affin Hwang Select Asia Fund is launched since Jul 2006 with more than MYR 1.3bil AUM.
Asia (ex-Japan) Affin Hwang adopts a total-return approach, which invests in
Opportunity Fund quality securities while being constantly aware of the changing
macroeconomic conditions and risk.
The fund strategy is growth-oriented and benchmark agnostic,
where the exposures to companies are determined independently
and reflects the fund manager’s conviction levels on the stock.
The portfolio contains core holdings that are held over the long
term, as well as a trading portion where the fund manager could
take advantage of opportunities that could benefit from the
prevailing market conditions.
