TWEED & COMPANY THEATRE
ACCOMMODATIONS NEEDED!
Have you been looking for ways to get more engaged with your community and your local performing arts organization?
Have a spare room that you're just not sure what to do with? Kids left home and ready to make some new friends? Well
have we got the opportunity for you! Each year, our performers, creative team members, and crew, come to our
community for a few weeks and need somewhere to call home. That home could be yours! We are always on the hunt for
more accommodations for our artists as the company continues to grow and we add more performances and more people
to our team!
Consider hosting someone today, and have an experience this year that you will never forget. Our artists take care of
themselves, they really just need a bed, a shower, and a little bit of space in the kitchen. This fun and rewarding experience
also comes with some perks, and the opportunity to get to know our artists, and help out an important community
organization. Complete the applicable billet survey here, or please feel free to call or email if you have any questions, or
would like to receive a copy of our billet guide.

PICKERING PLANT REFURBISHMENT PUTS NEW FOCUS ON POTENTIAL MARMORA HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT
Belleville, ON, Canada / Quinte News - Zach McGibbon
The announcement of the refurbishment of the Pickering nuclear power plant has put a new focus on plans to have
Pumped Hydroelectric Energy Storage in Marmora. The Marmora Pumped Storage Project is a proposed 400 megawatt
hydroelectric pumped storage project that is a partnership between OPG and Northland Power. The project would use the
former open-pit fire mine in Marmora and convert it into a closed-loop cycle design that recirculates the same water
between the former open-pit mine and upper reservoir.
The municipality has previously stated that the Marmora Pumped
Storage project would be a large scale, fast response, multi-
function electricity asset that also has the potential to be a
provincial and federal eco-tourism asset. If moved forward,
Marmora indicated that the project could create up to 1,000 jobs
during the four-year construction period. Marmora is not the
only area in Ontario looking at bringing in hydroelectric pumped
storage.
In Meaford, the Ontario Pumped Storage Project is a proposed
1,000 megawatt hydroelectric pumped storage by TC Energy that
would would take water from Georgian Bay, temporarily store it in
a reservoir, and then return the water back into Georgian Bay to
generate electricity.
Both projects have been chosen for a study about the viability of
other similar proposals. One or both could be approved for
construction. No timeline has been set on when a decision for
each project could be made.
