On March 9, Officers Anthony Abram, Christopher Flores, Sheena Johnson-Panek and Brenda Martinez were working in the area of 53rd Street and Hermitage Avenue when they received a call about an injured man. The officers responded and found a male who had put his hand through a window and was bleeding profusely. The of- ficers’ training kicked in; together, they calmed the injured man and applied a tourniquet to his arm. The ambulance then arrived and transported him to the hospital. It was found out later that the man had cut his artery and would have perished at the scene if not for the quick reaction of the officers.
