15th District
celebrates
community leaders
On Jan. 18, hundreds of law enforcement supporters, officers and young leaders gathered for a night of celebration in recog- nition of those who work hard to make Chicago a better place.
The 15th District Police Explorers Gala and Community Awards ceremony was held at the Columbus Park Refectory, where many members of the community were recognized for their outstanding efforts to support the CPD and have a positive impact on the lives of Chicagoans.
The event, hosted by the 15th District Police Explorers and Youth Leadership Council, also spread awareness about the Po- lice Explorers Program, which gives youth the opportunity to discover what a career in law enforcement entails and build a passion for serving the community in which they live.
The 15th District commented on the success of this commu- nity-driven event via a Twitter post. “The 15th District Police Ex- plorers and Youth Leadership Council put on an amazing show last night, as hundreds of Austin Community stakeholders gath- ered to celebrate the efforts of 2018 and commit to making even greater strides in 2019,” the post read.
