Load the no. 8 shader brush with Raw Umber and paint the basket. Wipe the brush off and paint the darker area inside the basket with Payne’s Grey.
Load the no. 2 round brush with a touch of Raw Umber and Titan Buff and paint along the top and bottom rim of the basket and the reeds going from the top to the bottom of the basket.
Load the no. 6 wave brush with Quinacridone Gold and paint the rows from left to right and along the front of the basket. Rinse brush, load with Titan Buff and repeat. Make sure that each section goes in and out from the reeds that come down from the top of the basket. Let dry.
Load the toe of a slightly damp 1/4" angle brush with Payne’s Grey and shade on both sides of the reed where it meets the bands going left to right. Notice how dark the front of the basket is. Wait until you paint the sunflowers and then paint a wash of Payne’s Grey under the sunflowers on this section.
Repaint the reeds coming down the basket if necessary. Load the no. 2 round brush with Titan Buff and paint some brighter highlights on the basket.
