S anta is a favorite to paint. You must capture the love and joy he brings to everyone. The eyes and mouth create this expression. His face has crinkles around the eyes,
pear-shaped cheeks and joyful mouth and lips. The use of darks and lights direct the eye to the center of interest, which is Santa! Let’s get started!
PREPARATION
Prepare canvas and trace pattern.
Basecoat the canvas with Desert Sand acrylic paint (or whatever color you equate to grocery sack brown) and let dry. Trace pattern onto the toned canvas using a stylus and white graphite paper.
