If you have thought you would like to try the art form of calligraphy, here are a couple of sim- ple examples you can do using a series of simple strokes to complete this project.
Using a no. 3 round brush with DecoArt Americana Black Plum or a brush pen on card stock paper, follow the direction or the arrows when creating each letter of the word “Welcome”.
The downward strokes are wide with greater pressure applied to the brush and the upward strokes are light and thin with less pressure applied.
With a little practice, you can create your own personalized card to send to your friends.
To paint the cherry blossoms thin your paint with water. Your paint will be very thin and trans- parent. Using a no. 4 round or filbert, make a teardrop stroke. This stroke begins with the point. Pressure is gradually applied until the stroke is the desired length. The brush is then lifted leaving a rounded head on the stroke (step one). The pet- als are made with two tear drop strokes in a heart- shaped (step two). Each petal shape does not need to be perfect (step three). Add the yellow dots with a stylus to the center of the blossom (step four). You can paint as many blossoms as you want in different sizes.
