Years ago I started drawing what I called loopy flowers for some of my fabric designs. They were all in the daisy style. I liked the movement and fun, carefree mood they inspired. I began wondering if I could use the same style for other designs and my “Loopy Iris” and “Loopy Butterfly” were born!
A NOTE ABOUT IRIS FLOWERS
The top petals are attached to the stem at the center of the flower; they grow out, up and around then bend back toward the center. The bottom petals also grow out from the center, but they bend down. A small petal is peeking in between the top petals, and furry beards trail from the center down the bottom petals; these are the stamens of an iris.
