Medium Red Rose and blend just a little on your palette as most of the blending will be done on the surface. Posi- tion the Medium Red Rose against the top edge of the sky and work the color down so you have Medium White at the bottom edge. Work your way around the container, picking up more paint and DecoArt Traditions Extender as needed working for a soft gradation of color from top to bottom. Dry well before applying pattern.
Trace pattern and apply to the surface using gray transfer paper and a stylus and a light touch so the lines aren’t too dark.
Apply a thin coat of DecoArt Traditions Extender in the sky area with a 1" flat brush. Sideload a 1⁄2" angle brush with Warm White and apply soft, wispy clouds in the sky, pulling off to the side to feather off. Use a mop to soften.
WATER AND SAILBOAT
Dampen a no. 6 filbert with DecoArt Traditions Ex- tender, load with the Teal Mix and basecoat the water. Working wet-on-wet, brush Warm White highlights in the water. Dry well. Shade the bottom of the water next to the shore with a 3⁄8" angle brush sideloaded with Teal Green.
