ACRYLIC
BLUE HOUSE
Basecoat the house and chimney with Blue Mix. Working wet-on-wet, highlight the center and right side of the house with Warm White.
Shade the left side of the house with the Teal Mix.
Basecoat the windows with Yellow Mix and the door Carbon Black.
Dry-brush a highlight on the windows and the door.
Line the windows with a liner and thinned Burnt Umber.
Tap a brush mix of Medium Grey in the chimney area. Line the bricks with a liner
and a thinned brush mix of Medium Grey+Carbon Black (1:tch). Paint the roof line with thinned Carbon Black.
RED HOUSE
Basecoat the house and chimneys with two coats of Red Mix.
Paint the windows Carbon Black and the door Yellow Mix.
Highlight the door and windows with a dry-brush of Warm White. Paint the win-
dow panes with thinned Warm White.
Load a no. 2 flat with Medium Grey paint shingles on the roof.
GRASS AND PATHS
Paint the paths with a wash of Raw Sienna. Shade the sides of the path with Burnt Sienna. Dry-brush a highlight in the center of the path with Yellow Mix and a touch of Warm White.
Apply a wash of Light Green Mix to the grassy areas on the ground.
Sideload a 3⁄8" angle brush with Avocado and shade along the base of all the houses, trees and along the ground.
TREES AND SHRUBS
Paint all tree trunks with a no. 3 round and a mix of Burnt Umber+Burnt Sienna. Add a few branches in the pink trees using a liner.
PINK TREES
Stipple loosely so the trees appear light and airy. Start with Pink Mix all over the tree. Add a little Red Mix for some shadow areas. Stipple highlights with a brush mix of Warm White+Light Pink Mix (1:tch). Final highlights are Warm White. Reinforce branches that were covered with stippled color using a liner and thinned Burnt Umber.
Basecoat the remaining trees and shrubs by tapping in a wash of Avocado.
TALL TREE, ROUND TREES, AND SHRUBS
Stipple tree with Light Green Mix. Stipple Avocado on the left side. The right side is stippled with a brush mix of equal parts Light Green Mix+Yellow Oxide+Warm White (1:1:1). This should be lighter and more yellow than Light Green Mix. Add a little Light Pink Mix to the shrubs.
PINE TREE
Paint small comma-strokes with Avocado and a no. 1 liner. Using the dirty brush, pick up a little Teal Green and add more comma-strokes. Add a few highlight comma- strokes with Light Green.
Stipple a little Avocado along the paths, houses and at the base of the trees. Stipple highlights with Light Green Mix+Warm White (1:1).
