wood grain with a wash of thinned Burnt Umber.(Re- fer to Step 2 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.) Add some more detailed wood grain with the liner brush and Burnt Umber. (Refer to Step 3 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.) Mix together Hauser Dark Green+Blue Chiffon (1:tch) for the sign in the front. Use the liner brush and Warm White thinned with a touch of water to add the letters. (Refer to Step 4 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.)
INSIDE OF BRIDGE
While working around the window areas inside the bridge, basecoat the walls with Lamp (Ebony) Black. Make sure to leave the windows and some of the cracks on the walls open so you see the trees in the back of the bridge. (Refer to Step 2 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.) The verti- cal beams in the wall are added with a wash of thinned Charcoal Grey. Keep the lightest color toward the opening of the bridge and use a less defined wash as you go into the bridge shadows. Add the horizontal boards in the same manner. (Refer to Step-by-Step 3 on page 63) When dry, dry-brush some Slate Grey here and there with the small mezzaluna brush to make the boards look more aged. (Re- fer to Step 4 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.)
OUTSIDE OF BRIDGE
Basecoat the outside walls of the bridge with two coats
of Charcoal Grey. Thin Lamp (Ebony) Black with water and, using the liner brush, add the lines to separate the boards. (Refer to Step 2 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.) Using the small mezzaluna brush, dry-brush the boards to make them look aged. Randomly use Light Mocha, Dove Grey, Slate Grey, Pebble and Burnt Umber. Just use the dirty brush when you change colors. (Refer to Step 3 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.) Touch up any lost board lines with thinned Lamp (Ebony) Black. Shade along the front corner, under the board along the top on the side of the bridge, on top and underneath the steps along the side of the bridge with the no. 8 shader brush and Lamp (Ebony) Black. (Refer to Step 4 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.) The area under the roof line on the side of the bridge and underneath the bridge is Lamp (Ebony) Black. (Refer to Step 3 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.) Add a wash of Charcoal Grey for the posts along the top and the boards underneath. (Refer to Step 4 of the Step-by-Step on page 63.)
ROCK WALL ON THE RIGHT
Basecoat the wall with one coat of Graphite. Using the no. 4 shader brush, add the stones with a combination of Dove Grey, Slate Grey, and Pebble. Mix up the colors so they look more random throughout the wall. You can do this by double-loading the brush and even triple-load- ing the brush. The concrete foundation at the water line
