Creating places that connect people with each other is an
essential part of our company’s mission. At 65 Aerie Drive, the
design balances large spaces for gathering with intimate
spaces for personal contemplation and intentional conversation.
We used the central outdoor space to organize the home by use,
placing the public spaces on one side and the more intimate
private spaces on the other.
There are three primary spaces in the home for large gatherings.
The most obvious is the open plan living, dining, and
kitchen space. By making this one large space interactions can
happen from one space to another with ease. The second
large gathering space is the family room and bar on the
entry level. Special care was taken to orient the bar in the
direction of the family room so when a movie or big game is
being enjoyed, everyone can enjoy it together. By the end of
the bar a seating area, that overlooks the view and a large
planter, provides space for individual conversations to happen
while still feeling like your part of the larger group. The third
large gathering space is the over 900 square foot deck that can
hold an outdoor kitchen, dining room, seating area and hot
tub to create an amazing outdoor gathering space. An almost
fourteen-foot linear fire pit on the deck allows seating to be
arranged so everyone gets to enjoy the panoramic view.
MANY WAYS TO THRIVE.
