      PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING FOR YOUNG MEMBERS

The whole world seems to be short staff, so attracting and
retaining talent to Marlborough and our businesses is a top
      priority.

After talking with a number of local HR Managers who had
recently employed a number of new staff from across the
country, one of the key issues that cropped up was the need
to support the new arrivals with a professional and social
networks, and the ability to foster leadership skills to retain
our current young professionals here for longer.

Sustaining our local workforce through networking,
supporting each other, and training and leadership
development sounded like something the Marlborough
Chamber of Commerce could help with. And so,
Marlborough Young Chamber (MY Chamber) has been
established for local professionals aged 18-35.

We have held three events so far - drinks at Fairweathers,
breakfast with Nicola Willis and festive wine tasting at
      Te Pa Wines.

There will be plenty more learning and networking
      opportunities in the New Year.
