6. Water
Water is a substance that is easily found around environment. We certainly
use it often every day good for bathing, washing, cooking, or drinking. But
unfortunately, we only use it, not knowing its exact benefits. Every day, the water
we consume ranges from 2.5 liters. Water consumption is this amount, because
70% of the human body consists of water. Man in various conditions, can live for
a long time without food. However, humans do not will survive without water.
So important is water for our body, making water has a variety of
functions. The various functions of water are as follows.
a. As a medium for the occurrence of various chemical reactions in the body;
b. A means of transporting substances in the digestion of food from the small
intestine to other parts of the body;
c. A means of transporting metabolic waste from body tissues to excretory
organs for disposal;
d. Hormone transport devices from various glands to parts the body that
needs it;
e. As an important component in the lubrication of the bones of the joints,
digestion, and blood;
f. Needed for hydrolysis reactions in the digestive system;
g. Helps maintain body temperature
