Bush Point Mercantile
The dock at Bush Point was built in
1913 and had regular steamer passenger
boat service to Port Townsend and south
to Seattle. John Carlton Farmer, Jr. built
the mercantile in 1914, but it was his The dock was built in 1913; the store in 1914

who ran the store for many years.
The store was a popular gathering
place for locals, boat passengers, and
summer visitors, providing groceries,
produce, fishing supplies, and even had
a lunch counter.
Rooms upstairs were used to house
fishing resort guests. Cabins were added
later and Bush Point was the site of pop-
ular fishing derbies in the 1930s and 40s.
