Helen was bitten by the “horse and pony” bug and began having lessons.
Ruth joined her and they both had horse management lessons at evening
classes too!

“Bess” pictured right, was
the first equine.
As a small pony, very good
to “learn with” but not much
practical use for 2 adults
and one daughter.

This is Juno who came from a
horse dealer near Lincoln.
Juno was a Dales Pony cross
and unbeknown to us, was
pregnant when she came!
Juno was large enough for Ruth

or Helen to ride, but by now I
was also becoming interested in
horses and we persuaded Juno
to teach us to “drive”.
