The police had been given the full story by Ruth during the day and fortunately her
            feminine charm worked wonders on them as we heard nothing further of the incident.

            I cannot recall ‘wonderbun’ engaged in much more serious work after this time as she was
            now getting rather long in the tooth and the other vehicles in the ‘fleet’ were more in
            keeping with the current “improved” company image!

            “WONDERBUN” ON THE M62
            Postively the last tale of Wonderbun.....


            I must add this little short tale, as the more I think about it, the more it becomes indelibly
            fixed in my memory!
            This was in the very early days of Wonderbun, I was travelling to Lancashire with
            something or other, that bit does slip my memory.


            It was a cool sort of day but clear and dry. Wonderbun and I had cleared Yorkshire
            heading West and were about to begin the downward run into Lancashire when I suddenly
            saw a circle of steel fly away from the nearside (verge side) of the lorry just under my
            windscreen and bounce at high speed across the three lane carriageway, bounce over the
