            We yet another call around I think it must have been Spring 1997. A lady phoned from
            Bardney near Lincoln to say that she had a shire horse and she could not cope with it.
            Evidently she had bought it at an auction sale at Newark, Nottinghamshire and having got
            it home, she did not know what to do. Could we help? Could we take it away?

            I said I would do what we could for her, but then she asked us could we go to her that
            same day……..I said that I should think we could, once we had time to sort out our jobs at
            home.
            She telephoned once more within a few minutes and asked if we could take our cheque
            book?
            She had not explained in the first instance that she wanted cash for the horse!  We did not
