11.1 Seat Belts (do I need to wear one?)

It is FTL Ltd Company Policy to wear a seat belt at all times no matter what
vehicle you are driving.

If it is fitted you wear it. NO EXCEPTIONS IT’S THE LAW.

Failure to wear your seat belt will result in disciplinary procedures, an on the spot fine of
£100 for failing to wear a seatbelt (which can go up to £500, if referred to court) from the
police. You may also be responsible for any administrative fees passed onto the company
if you are driving a hire vehicle.

11.2 All Vehicle Controls

You must be familiarised with all the controls of the vehicle to operate it safely:

✓ In cab controls and gauges Please ensure that you
✓ Handbrake have read and understood
✓ Mobile Phone and Bluetooth the vehicle operator’s
✓ Tachograph manual
✓ Safety Systems/Cameras/ Reversing Alarms

Safety systems must never be short circuited or interfered with as they are there
for everyone’s safety.

Disciplinary action will be taken if this or similar is ever witnessed.

11.3 Vulnerable Road Users Safety Policy

Purpose
FTL Ltd vehicles share the roads with many other road users, some of whom are at a far
greater risk than others. We recognise that some of these road users may warrant special
consideration and greater vigilance in order to protect their safety and well-being.

FTL Ltd aims to avoid all collisions involving other road users, by adhering to the simple
precautions outlined in this procedure.

Scope
This policy applies to all drivers, co-drivers, supervisors and managers responsible for
transport staff at FTL Ltd.
