                  Daily driving/break time rules:

                   Driving

‘Driving time’ is the duration of driving activity recorded either by the recording
equipment or manually if the equipment is broken.

Even driving for a short period under EU rules during any day by a driver will mean that
he is in scope of the EU rules and must comply with the daily and weekly driving, break,
                 and rest requirements.

                   Periods of availability

Periods of availability must only be by prior arrangement; P.O.A. must not be used
                 when carrying out other duties.

                   Breaks
After a continuous driving period of no more than 4.5 hours a driver must immediately
take a break of at least 45 minutes (unless the driver takes a daily or weekly rest
                 period).

Any break taken in this way must not be interrupted.

Driving 4.5 hrs. Break 45 mins.

Driving 2.5 hrs. Other work 1hr. Driving 2 hrs. Break 45 mins.

A break is any period during which a driver may not carry out any driving or any other
work and is exclusively used for recuperation.

Alternatively, a full 45-minute break can be replaced by one break of at least 15 minutes
followed by another break of at least 30 minutes. These breaks must be distributed over
                 the 4.5-hour period.

Breaks of less than 15 minutes will not count towards a qualifying break.

i.e. if the ignition is turned on after 14 minutes for example, then those minutes will be
lost and you must start your break again. Always take 16 minutes to ensure that your
                 break qualifies.

The second break must be of at least 30 minutes
