20 Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulation LOLER

Visually inspect the equipment on your vehicle/plant for hydraulic oil leaks. Report
any leaks on your defect sheet, if serious phone your manager immediately and

use a pollution control bucket.

Lifting equipment will be inspected every 12 months and lifting attachments, chains
and strops will be inspected every 6 months.

Check the levels on any oil tanks fitted to ensure they are within safe levels.
Visually inspect all guarding on your vehicle/plant and ensure it is all in good

working order
Ensure the vehicle/plant is serviced regularly in accordance with the manufacturers

recommendations

Check all lifting chains and strops to ensure they are labelled and have been
inspected and are safe to use.

Take note of the S.W.L. (Safe Working Load) and do not exceed the limit.
