All mobile plant is fitted with flashing beacons/ reversing alarms and are regularly
serviced.
All mobile plant operators are trained in the machine that they use, daily check sheets
are completed and defects reported.
Site staff are in communication via two-way radios with office or verbally.
The loading shovels have all round vision and are fitted with reversing camera, wide-
angle mirrors and White noise-reversing alarms.
People allowed into the recycling area are restricted to those working there and any
visitors that do need to visit the site are accompanied by a member of staff and given
a site induction. Statutory visitors e.g. Environmental Agency or Planners are
accompanied. Contractors on-site are given a site induction before commencing
work given a set of site rules and a permit to work.
The Weighbridge Operator hands out site rules to customers and drivers delivering
and collecting from site.
Visitors MUST be given a basic site induction before being allowed on-site.
Signage is good to instruct all visitors to report to reception.
Visitor parking is in the car park near to the weighbridge/site office
All staff have been trained in the Traffic Management Plan.
If all the above controls are followed then the risk of injury to persons has been brought
down to as low as is reasonably practical.
There is a full copy of the traffic management plan for TJ kept in the main office
should you wish to see it. This document is kept regularly updated.
