BEST PRACTICES IN TEACHING –LEARNING
INTRODUCTION:
Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it - Lao Tz
Best Practices are repository to disseminate and promote positive Goals. They have a marked
impact on all the Stake holders of the Organization. It is very important to inculcate practices
depending on the context and Environment. The practices have to yield results which are
measurable and realistic and should reach out to various cross sections of the society.
The best practices at JAIN (Deemed to be University) focus on those aspects of holistic
learning, entrepreneurial competencies and community engagement. They lay emphasis on
creativity, leadership, empathy and fellow feelings. The university aims at not only creating an
Educational environment but also myriad things which establish close connect with the
community. These practices work beneficially for both stakeholders and the community.
Best practices at Jain University have impacted the stakeholders and community and lead to
discussions, thoughtful questions, and reflective responses developing cooperative groups,
creating jobs, honing entrepreneurial skills, survey studies, hand holding, self-assessment, and
university – community engagements/dialogues/responses/relationships. They have been
able to inculcate positive ideas, social skills, interaction with various groups and the like. They
have created opportunities to various stake holders to know, understand and involve in
various activities beyond the realm of teaching and learning.
The introductions of best practices in the University has made the students holistic and also
inculcated a sense of responsibility among them. They have acted as motivators to unleash the
hidden potential of their fellow students like leadership skills, organizational abilities and the
like. The entrepreneurial ventures have made the students job providers rather than job
seekers. This has strengthened the stake holder relationships.
TITLE OF THE PRACTICE: COMPASS ORIENTATION PROGRAM
Objective of the Practice:
• To create a robust orientation program with an engaging curriculum and enable the
students to connect with Faculty members, Campus Administration and all the others
involved in their campus lives. Bridge Courses are conducted to brush-up their
academics and build various key competencies.
