Develop Your
Daily Trade
Show Routine
Each morning, before you leave your hotel room, b e sure you
are stocked up with purchase orders, pens, business cards,
brochures, and anything that may have been used up the
day before. Be prepared with lots of handouts for each day of
the show.
Get to the booth at least thirty minutes before the show opens
to freshen up the booth. Sometimes a sign can fall down or a
display may have been knocked over, so leave a little time for
the unexpected. Use the extra time to walk around and see the
show-you likely haven't had time to walk the entire floor yet.
If you see a booth that carries a similar or competing product
to yours , figure out the differences and your benefits. Introduce
yourself to other exhibitors; get to know people.
Exhibitors usually arrive twenty to thirty minutes before the
show starts. While they are drinking coffee, they may be open to
conversation . Like set-up day, the mood is casual in the mornings.
When the show is over at the end of the day everyone races out,
so that early morning is the best time to meet people.
