Personal Statement and Goals:
It is an honor to be nominated for the position of President-elect for the Georgia School Nutrition Association
(GSNA). I am at a stage in my personal life and professional career that I can devote the time and service to
the association. I have seen first-hand how the association has continued to soar even amid a pandemic by
creating the first ever Virtual Annual Conference. By developing this online platform and unique experience,
GSNA demonstrates how it continues to be a resource for its members. I desire to continue this upward
growth and work with the brilliant minds of GSNA and follow in the footsteps of the past presidents, while
also blazing my path and continue to make the experience fulfilling for members. I have a plethora of
leadership experience and look forward to continuing to share my knowledge with others.
My Goals as President are as follows:
Professional Development/Education ǦContinually work with members to expand knowledge and
skills relating to school nutrition.
Encourage members to actively participate in professional development opportunities.
Increase the number of SNA certification holders and SNA credentialed members.
Explore certification and credentialing opportunities and evaluate options for professional growth.
Advocacy/Public Image ǦIncrease efforts to educate policy makers and enhance public perception of
School Nutrition Programs and Program Professionals.
Ensure the SNA Position Paper is released timely to allow for monthly communication at local
chapter meetings, district meetings and to policy makers.
Invite members who attend SNA LAC to give a report or speak at GSNA Conference.
Membership and Community ǦStrengthen participation in GSNA through engagement, leadership and
collaboration among the membership and our partners.
Increase the membership of our industry partners in GSNA.
Increase awareness of member benefits.
Promote chapter revitalization and reclamation.
Identify resources to increase individual membership and district owned membership.
Governance and Operations ǦTo align GSNA State Governance with SNA National Governance.
Review our strategic priorities and modify for alignment with SNA.
Evaluate the financial health of GSNA and plan for long term stability.
Promote initiatives to support leadership development of the GSNA Executive Board.
I look forward to hearing from you and working with you in the future. I promise, if elected, I will serve this
position to the best of my ability and will ensure the Georgia School Nutrition Association continues to stay
committed to enhancing the experience of all our members.
