I came to the state of Texas from Gwinnett County (Atlanta, GA.) with my family (wife
and two young boys) in 1985.

In 1972, I obtained my Baccalaureate degree from Tennessee Technological University
in Public Health Studies, and later completed two additional academic disciplines,
Emergency Medical Services (Paramedic/Instructor) graduating with academic honors
from Georgia Parameter College in 1980, and later Fire Science/Administration
Curriculum from the University of Maryland (MIFRI) in 2003. At Tennessee Tech
University, I attended on athletic scholarship (Track and Cross Country) and was named
to the “Outstanding College Athletes of America” in 1970-71 being All Ohio Valley
Conference in the half-mile and anchoring the mile relay.

My areas of Public Safety service began as a Firefighter/EMT in Jacksonville, FL in 1972
prior to my entering military service in the U.S. Air Force and in 1980 began service
with the Gwinnett County (Atlanta Georgia) Fire Dept. as a Firefighter/Paramedic (EMS
Planner) as well as a Licensed Arson Investigator and Special Deputy Sheriff with the
Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. I was also on part time staff with the City of Snellville,
              Ga. Police Dept.

After coming to Texas, I began on the initial Paramedic Staff for the City of
Longview/LeTourneau University in 1985. I had previously served in the Georgia Army
National Guard instructing Emergency Medicine and Trauma Management at
Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Ft. Gordon, GA. prior to transferring to The Texas
