DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF TERRALINK WALL AS LANDSLIDE
REPAIR METHOD FOR THE ROAD BATANG KALI TO GENTING
ABSTRAK
Investigates a pivotal response to a catastrophic landslide incident in
December 2022, resulting in 31 casualties. The proposed remedy
employs the TerraLink technique involve soil nailing, polymeric
reinforcement strips, steel back-mesh, prefabricated welded steel
mesh facing, DrainTube composite drainage, mechanical
connections, and micropiles. TerraLink facilitates the creation of
Reinforced Earth walls in confined spaces between reinforced existing
structures, forming a robust shored retaining wall system. The study
delves into the advantages, stress tranfer mechanisms for Terralink
systems, showcasing the method's adaptability to difficult site
conditions after landslides.
The paper also emphasizing the integration with existing structures
and design sequence, incorporating soil reinforcements and steel
modular facing systems. The chosen treatment proves effective in
scenarios where conventional Reinforced soil wall and gravity
retaining walls face limitations, as evidenced by its successful
application in widening urban platforms and constructing walls in
steep topography.
The TerraLink system is characterized by a reduced footprint,
minimal traffic disruption during construction, rapid implementation,
and economic benefits. The paper explores the system's adaptability
to various environmental and technical constraints, making it a
promising alternative for sites where conventional solutions are
impractical. With its sustainable and economical attributes, TerraLink
emerges as a transformative method for landslide repair and
infrastructure development in challenging terrains and constrained
construction environments.
