NEW TOOL FOR ZOO VISITORS

Brookfield Zoo is rolling out a tool that gives you
instant access to information about an animal as
you stand in front of it. The tool uses a QR code
on Zoo Chat signs outside some of the animal
habitats. Just scan the code with a mobile device and
you’ll be taken to a “Bringing the Zoo to You” chat
about that animal on the zoo YouTube channel.
These informative video chats are given by the animal
care specialists who work with the animals every day.
They answer questions such as: What is the animal’s name
and age? How much does it weigh? Where is the species
from and what is its native habitat? What distinctive physical
features does it have? What does it eat?
The 20 Zoo Chat signs are located throughout the park
and outside the habitats of the African lions, California sea
lions, North American bison, Przewalski’s horses, bald eagles,
and snow leopards, to name a few.

T-SHIRTS, TACO TRUCKS,
& MOBILE ORDERING

On your next visit to Brookfield Zoo, grab a tasty meal or snack at
one of our new food trucks. Both trucks are parked on the zoo’s East
Mall. Stop by Taco Caja for delicious street-style tacos, chips and
salsa, nachos, and more. The COOP serves hand-breaded chicken
tenders, chicken sandwiches, and fries, among other things.
Taco Caja and The COOP are brought to you by the SSA
Group, which operates culinary and retail services at Brookfield Zoo.
SSA has also reopened the popular BZ Red Hots with refreshed
inside décor and new menu items. You’ll find mouth-watering
burgers, Chicago-style hot dogs, hand-breaded chicken tenders, and
seasonal pizza offerings, as well as craft and domestic beer and Pepsi
products. Café del Sol menu items are now available with mobile
ordering. Order when you like, skip the line, pick up, and go.
NEW for 2021! The interiors of our North
Gate Shop and South Gate’s Wildlife Trading
Post are now open for shoppers. You’ll find
a larger selection to choose from, including
our newest ‘Just Imagine’ collection featuring
sustainable products created to reduce
plastic waste and users’ carbon footprint.
Apparel includes 100 percent cotton shirts
and BPA-free utensil sets, lunch boxes, and
water bottles made from reclaimed stalks of
wheat. You can find these new items and a lot
more at all of our shops around the zoo! █
