Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me
of the Lord,
2 Corinthians 2:12
Once again, Paul used this term to speak of the great opportunities that the Lord gave him while in Troas. Who opened the door? The Lord.
Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds.
Colossians 4:3
Paul was praying for a door to open for him to preach the Gospel, even while he was sitting in jail. We have to pray for us to experience open doors.
“Door” is also used in reference to an entrance into the Kingdom of God.
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be
able.
Luke 13:24
“Gate” is used in the same way “door” has been used. In this case, it refers to the door of God’s kingdom, which is a narrow door. We also can see, in the next verse, how this door will one day be closed for good.
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are
