Behaviour Stratergies
If a child requires assistance a member of the teaching team may
utilise a variety of strategies from the list below:
• Positioning adults where problems are likely
• Using encouragement and praise
• Making the child feel important within the group
• Placing a child close to a staff member
• Helping children deal with emotions in an appropriate manner
• Redirecting a child to another activity
• Helping children to respect the rights and feelings of others
• Allowing children to make decisions about themselves
• Ensuring children gain positive attention rather than negative
• Provide a happy, safe and stable environment for the children
If ongoing unacceptable behaviour has been
identified, the teacher will:

child to gain the confidence to use
approriate behaviour whilst attending
Preschool.
