Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of risks associated with
systems failures in the practice of medicine. Examples of types of effective
tracking systems, case studies illustrating adverse outcomes related to
systems failures, and risk management strategies to address issues are
reviewed.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Recognize the most common risk management issues associated
with systems failures
2. List examples of types of systems to address potential risk issues
3. Identify strategies to implement systems that reduce the risk of
adverse outcomes
