How do I Enter a Journal Spreadsheet for Uploading to Compass?

Overview

In Compass, you can enter journals into Microsoft Excel worksheets and then import the journals into the
General Ledger module. This allows you to complete journal entries without access to Compass.
You can create journals by using any of the Excel features to search and replace, cut, copy, and so forth. The
ability to perform Excel functions on journals can be helpful when you need to make the same change for
multiple journal lines.

You may need to have a VPN session turned on to import you file.

Navigation

Navigate to the folder in which the JRNL-UPLOAD_PROD files are located. If you do not have the files, you may
download them on the Finance Systems Tools website.
You must have all four files saved in the same folder.

Configuring Spreadsheet Journal Import

1. Double-click the JRNL-UPLOAD_PROD file.

Microsoft Excel opens the Spreadsheet Journal Import workbook.

The following buttons are available on the Home page:

• Setup - use to setup journal defaults and various other options.
• Notes - use the Notes worksheet as a reference for instructions, calculations, notes, etc.
