1896 Breed portrait of an “English Whippet”
Among the hundreds of engravings in my collection, let us look here at Mahler’s sighthounds.
As with all domestic animals that he illustrated, it is fascinating to see how some of the
Sighthound breeds looked like over 100 years ago, how much some have changed, how many
stayed the same and which seem to have gone extinct.
