So we are far away from the idea of line breeding and yet a great uniformity of type
emerges. The dogs have joined the human family unit and have taken on different tasks.
We have just described the task of hunting together.
We will take a closer look at the task of protecting the huts and the herds after we have
looked at the latest findings of palaeological genetic research. Here we can see why the
grey wolf, from which the dog is said to be descended, is not a dog. Erik Zimen and other
wolf researchers have repeatedly come across serious differences between wolves and
dogs.
This brings us back to Buffon, who suspected a proto-dog. The core of this circumstance
lies in the fact that there are common ancestors for both the grey wolf and the dog. Yes,
the gene flow of the wolves rather splits off from the dog ancestors.

gene flow is uniform from dogs to wolf populations.
