Page 7 - Samurai Knight Fever
P. 7
Example: an army has eliminated 4 ashigaru units (4 points), two samurai units (4
points), one legendary samurai (3 points), has pillaged the other side’s camp (2 points)
and the enemy currently has one samurai unit currently in rout (2). Thus the army in
question currently has 15 points.
A note on army composition: around 60-70% of any army of the period would be
ashigaru, both spear armed melee units and bow or arquebus armed missile units.
Samurai units would be about split about 70/30 between melee units and missile units.
Legendary samurai units are rare and shouldn’t be more than one unit per army.
One balanced and fairly historical army of 16 units would possibly be broken down as
follows: 8 ashigaru units ½ of which are spear armed melee units and ½ are bow or
arquebus armed. 3 samurai foot melee units, 2 mounted samurai units, 1 legendary
samurai melee foot unit and one bow armed samurai and one arquebus armed samurai
foot units.
