A FIELD TRIAL SECRETARY’S SEASON
It is pertinent to recall that the Weimaraner seasons has seen the reemergence of the

is vital to the protection and promotion of the
Weimaraner as a working gundog.
Accordingly, the founding objects of the WA are
of crucial importance and they dictate the ethos
which drives the approach of an effective field
trial secretary.
The aim is to promote the breed as a working
gundog through training, working tests and field
trials, and encouraging new owners into the
field. Also, to promote the breed by celebrating Trubon Grafyte Treve
the achievements in the field of handlers and Pic: S Burton
dogs, which in the 2019/20 season had the
best results in field trials since the breed was Planning for a Field Trial Season
introduced to the UK in 1952.
The planning for the next summer’s gundog
It is true to say that the foremost decade of field events, whether pointing tests, gundog
success for the Weimaraner in the field was working tests, training days etc. gets underway
the 1980s, and while intervening decades were the moment the last shot is fired at the preceding
a period of consolidation at best, the last few season’s last field trial.
