After attending many WOTY shows over the years I was
delighted to be asked to judge one. You are told under pain
of death not to tell anyone at all about your appointment
and I did not even tell my wife about it until she wanted to
know why we had not entered.

The venue for said show was a hotel just off J25 of the M1
and when we arrived pretty early, I might add there were
exhibitors there already.

Sue went in first and I tried to sneak in a side entrance and
hide in a corner of the bar away from inquisitive eyes.

You may not be aware judges do not know the identity of
their fellow judges such is the secrecy surrounding the
event. However, I was joined in the bar by the very lovely
Sandra Marshall and we soon established we were two of
the three but who was the third?

When the exhibitors were seated both Sandra and I
were introduced but still no sign of the third judge.

Then with a very big intro the equally lovely Julie
George-Ainscough, who was sitting on the front row
with everybody, whipped off her big coat and there she
was resplendent in her judging outfit.
